WoT: Wargaming.net Pro League Coming

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-02-12-professional-world-of-tanks-league-arrives

Tankaholics: attention! A professional gaming league for World of Tanks has been created.

The inaugural 2013 season has a $2.5 million prize pool. That will probably rise for subsequent seasons if everything goes well.

The league will launch during this first 2013 quarter. It's called the Wargaming.net League and it sounds like it's global. There will be regional tournaments, playoffs and grand finals.

Will the eSports community welcome it?

Tank Company Changes

This was almost a month ago, but I just saw it:
http://forum.worldoftanks.com/index.php?/topic/202861-7x42-els-format-coming-to-na/

^basically, tank companies to go away/be entirely reworked.  It mentions WoW "Dungeon Finder" feature which I do have experience with (yes, did play some WoW).

That being the case, you simply enter a queue alone or with others and wait for a "team" to form, then the battle launches I would assume.  Comments anyone? <-- feel free to correct me here on what that post means for WoT (google translate is failing on the source page with "server error" /first-time-seen-that-fail)

Oh, and I saw in 2012 that a console version of WoT was thought about but not soon, but that source link indicates it is now more a coming reality....

I wonder how that'll work out for us PC gamers....

dm & CoAF & clan wars

I almost entitled this post, "State of The Clan," but I hate that subject title "state of the clan" ... how fucking lame that is.  This is a clan update, news, stuff....

Clan Kitteh <-- that's what I think I'll rename the clan to.  Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

This is shing's cat, "Skittles" ... it's shing's idea to rename the clan to his fav buddy!

Stuff:
dualmaster333 is now officially our representative on the "Council of Armed Forces."  Srsly, it is a very cool concept and I think he'll do great there as it plugs him/us into wargamming.net and their direct communications over clan issues/things.

Ok, next up, clan wars (hahahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!)

We're still not doing them.  I took a "show of hands" poll recently and a total of 12 people responded.  Toss in "my friend can play" et al., and _maybe_ we got 15.  But, subtract the half dozen, ("I can only play on mondays" and "I can only play on March 2nd of 2052") and we would prolly see ourselves vs a full 15-man clan and, yes, lose.  Do I care if we lose?  No, yes, sorta, but I don't want to set-it-up for def failure.

^this and I'm not even sure it's what we want to do as a clan ["Hrm, I'm reading what fkd is saying here, I'm pretty good.  My stats would get me into a top clan and I would make 150 gold each time I showed for a clan war match, for the required 4 times a week which would equal a couple of hours so, about 8 definite hours a week I'd be required to be there or get kicked-out"] <-- yes, and I want you to know, others have left, nicely, to join "elite clans" and I think they are happy.  If you want to leave to be elite I am all for it.  I think it would rock and I encourage this, I do.

This clan -- this "irrelevant scrub clan" is just taht, cuz we have lives.

Life/gaming ... pussy/gaming ... pussy<gaming?  Srsly?  pussy>gaming <-- I'd hope (keep using these fkd <--- ...ty I will).

Anyhow, that's where we are.  If being in a clan=clan wars to you, then go for it.

"Clan wars requires a lot of dedication" <-- lead dev serg said this

And now, for some deep thoughts from Jessica Alba....

WoT: Stats: Efficiency

If your colors in combat next to your name didn't take a hit (at least, if the numbers didn't change to the lesser) then you are lucky.  I lost my blue standing in xvm and am now a ... *gasp* ... a green!  I went from 1510 to 1440.  Needless to say, I am a stats-zombie like many of us, and this bothered me.

Of course, I read and found wot-news.com basically made flag work mean fuck all -- worth far less.

I've seen guys who had unicum standing go down into the 1700s.  Few have had little change.

My gut and rants about it is it will only encourage people to _not_ out-cap the enemy team and leave flag circle to kill that last, tier 2 arty who's in the battle cuz he platooned with his idiot friend in an E-50.

Anyhow....

I like some things about each stats site.  I like http://wot-dossier.appspot.com cuz it shows both old and new efficiency readings.  Now, here's something odd:

My TDs -- where I have most of my defensive work in, resetting enemy flag caps -- took a huge hit.

I guess they've turned into shit anything to do with the flag.

One former clan member -- who joined an "elite" clan under their charter of: "Must have over 2,000 efficiency" ... well, he did when he left us to go to them.  Now, his is in the 1700s I think.  He lost 200 some-odd points....

The Rules of Tank Club

Consider this the de facto disclaimer for "Tank Club":

Welcome to Tank Club.

This is an OGO ("Online Gaming Organization") that focuses on the video game, "World of Tanks").

^that made me throw-up in my mouth.

This is a clan.  A wot clan.  We believe in:

  • No pressure
  • No obligations
  • No assholes

There.  Read no further.  That was your tl;dr.  It was also prolly your invite message.

More stuff:

  • You do not have to be in this clan <-- duh!
  • You can leave this clan at any time <-- duh!
  • If you leave nicely, maturely, you can prolly come back <-- like you'd want to right?
  • If you want to leave, please, for the love of god, just leave.  Honestly, do you need to rage hard, mild or lightly before hand? Are you _that_ much of a woman (I'm the only woman aruond here gdi!)
  • Yes, I use these <-- these <-- that arrow thing there

At teh very worst, accepting the invite to this clan will mean:

  • a red shitty fist on your tank/td/spg ("wtf is this red shit on my tank" <-- what one mild rager said before quitting")
  • a channel in your WoT tool bar that'll maybe blink at times when new text arises in it

^if either one of those are just too fucking much for you to take and/or, if you want to be in a great clan that requires shit you _must_ do to stay in it, then, I beg you, leave.

You can:

  • leave raging
  • leave silently
  • leave lovingly
  • leave honorably
  • drop a deuce
  • get your blood wings
  • go for a hole in one (that means, shitting, wiping, and no shit on the tissue paper)

In all srsness (yes, rly srs now) if you join, only, ever, idle in clan chat, or go afk forever from game, or w/e, and we finally reach around 100 members, then you will prolly be kicked from the clan.

We r not there yet.

Most you -- any that read this prolly -- are awesome tho, and I love you.  I do.

The rest, srsly, gth (get this hotel).

Recruiting: Reason #923 to not join a clan

I have sent out 1.536 million invites.  Yes, I am on more ignore lists than _anyone_ playing WoT.  Anyhow, most say nothing in response.  Some call me names or say means things.  Some are nice and nicely turn me down.  Some say they will follow-up and are interested.

And then, there are those who give "reasons" why they do not join a clan.  I like this recent explanation:

Let's draw this out in a logic set:

^yup, makes perfect sense....
